Polk County Public Library, with the support of the Friends of the Library Association, hosts HeartSongs, a performing arts event for the public at no charge the first Thursday of each month. These performances showcase local musicians and storytellers beginning at 5:30pm.
In October, The Blue Ridge Rounders played traditional Appalachian music on the Readers Deck.
On November 7th, The Saluda River Gals will entertain library patrons with sweet Appalachian melodies. Amy Buckingham and Lucy Allen sing and play various “old time” selections on the banjo, guitar, fiddle, and mandolin. They will perform on the main floor of the library at the foot of the stairs. Light refreshments will be served.
