Baby Bookworms is storytime for youth ages 0-2 with books, songs, rhymes, and playtime with special age-appropriate toys. This program is offered year-round on Thursdays at 10:30am and made possible through a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation.
Rising Readers is storytime for youth ages 2-5 with books, songs, rhymes, and a special craft or activity. This program is only during the school year and will resume in September on Tuesdays at 10:30am.
Reading logs can be turned in until August 21! Grand prize drawing winners will be announced August 24. Kids can enter to win a kayaking trip, a tubing trip, and themed prize packs.

August 28: Super Sonic Light Speed
You will go on a super-sonic adventure as we discover how light and sound work through several dazzling demonstrations!
September 25: Rainforest Wonders
Let’s take a journey to the tropical rainforest! You will learn about the diversity of plants, animals, and people who call the rainforest home. We’ll also examine products that are made using ingredients from the rainforest.
October 23: Spooky Science
Your hair will literally be standing on end as we conduct several spooky science experiments. We’ll use solid carbon dioxide to create spook-tacular bubbles. We’ll make yellow foam ooze out of a jack-o-lantern. This action-packed Halloween science show is fun for the whole family!
DOLLY PARTON’S IMAGINATION LIBRARY
FREE BOOKS! All children who live in Polk County can receive one free book per month from the time they are born until they turn five years old! Come to the library and fill out a survey and registration form and return them both to Jen Pace Dickenson, Youth Services Librarian. Your child will start receiving free books in eight to ten weeks! This program is coordinated by Partnership for Children of the Foothills.
