New Children’s Science Program at Polk County Public Library

COLUMBUS, N. C., (March 23, 2015) – KidSenses Children’s INTERACTIVE Museum in Rutherfordton is now traveling once a month to Columbus with their Youth Engaged with Science (Y.E.S.) Discovery Program. This program is at the Polk County Public Library and is free and open to the public.

Y.E.S. Discovery Program starts March 27 with “The Sub-Zero Effect.” Come to the library at 4pm to learn just how cool science can be… 322 degrees below zero Fahrenheit cool to be exact! Using liquid nitrogen, the Kidsenses staff will shatter a ball, make an explosion, and examine the three states of matter with audience members.

The next program is “Action Reaction” on April 29. Kids will explode into learning with this highly flammable show that demonstrates the pure power of chemistry! From May to October, the Y.E.S. Discovery Program will be on the 4th Friday of each month and will explore various science themes such as the human body, reptiles, physics, light and sound, and the rainforest.

Polk County Public Library has a Main Library in Columbus and a branch in Saluda, as well as a bookmobile that travels throughout Polk County. PCPL offers books, movies, music, audiobooks, and downloadable ebooks and audiobooks, as well as public computers and wireless internet access. PCPL offers regularly scheduled programs for people of all ages. To learn more, visit www.polklibrary.org.
