Storyteller Elena Miller to Perform at PCPL

COLUMBUS, N.C., (September 10, 2015) – On Monday, September 14 at 4pm, join the Polk County Public Library for an afternoon of stories and music! As part of North Carolina Story Guild’s 100 County Journey, storyteller Elena Miller will perform traditional tales including Jack Tales, Grimm’s Fairy Tales and Aesop’s Fables. This program is free and all ages are invited to attend.

Elena Miller performed at the Carl Sandburg Home for many years and won the National Park Service Freeman Tilden Award for Best Performing Arts Program in 1983. She continues her work as a professional independent performing artist for the Arts Council of Henderson County and throughout the southeast. Her repertoire includes historical stories, fairy tales, Appalachian folklore, dulcimer, guitar, and autoharp.

This program is sponsored by the Greensboro Arts Council and NC Story Guild to promote The Heart of North Carolina Storytelling Festival.
