Library Card Sign-Up Month

All youth (up to age 18) who sign up for a new Polk County Public Library card during the month of September will get to choose a small prize AND be entered into the grand prize drawing for a $75 gift certificate to The Book Shelf in Tryon. September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, a time when Polk County Public Library joins with the American Library Association and other libraries nationwide to make sure that every student has the most important school supply of all – a free library card.

Teen Book Club

The club meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 4pm. For our October book, we’re reading The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd. One lucky book club member will win a free copy of November’s book selection (to be voted on at the meeting).

Teen Craft Night

Stick around after book club on October 15 (or come even if you aren’t in the club) for craft night at 5pm. Have you heard of Zen Doodling? Local calligrapher Catherine Langsdorf will teach us how to create awesome designs! All materials will be provided.
