FOL Spring Book Sale at PCPL
COLUMBUS, N.C., (April 13, 2016) – If you are a reader and love to shop for bargains, the Friends of the Polk County Public Library Spring Book Sale is the place for you! The sale will be in the Community Room of the Main Library in Columbus on Thursday, April 21 from 9am-7:30pm; Friday, April 22 from 9am-5:30pm; and Saturday, April 23 from 9am-3:30pm.
Those who are already Friends of the Library members or those who would like to join (starting as low as $10 for an individual annual membership) will have first choice at a special preview sale on Wednesday, April 20 from 4:30pm-7:30pm. The Friends of the Library welcome new members so they can expand the assistance they provide to Polk County Public Library. Please join the organization to celebrate and enhance reading and literacy in our community. You can support library programs, participate in book clubs, and help with book sales and get a sneak preview!
Books, DVDs, CDs, and audio materials withdrawn from the library or donated by the community will be sold. This year there is a large selection of young adult, children’s, and large print books and thousands of books on other topics. Prices are $1.00 for hardbacks and trade paperbacks and $0.50 for paperbacks. Children’s books are three for $1.00. On Saturday, there will be a $5.00 bag sale.
All proceeds from the book sale are used by the Friends of the Library to support Polk County Public Library through projects such as contributing to the children’s Summer Reading Program and other events, sponsoring development opportunities for the library staff, holding appreciation events for the library volunteers, and planning free programs and speakers of general interest for the community.
Polk County Public Library has a Main Library in Columbus and a branch in Saluda, as well as outreach services. PCPL offers books, movies, music, audiobooks, and downloadable ebooks and audiobooks, as well as public computers and wireless internet access. To learn more, visit www.polklibrary.org.
