COLUMBUS, N. C., (April 21, 2026) Learn about the functional side of fungi on Thursday, April 30th at 1pm at Columbus Library! From teas to tinctures, mushrooms are powerful tools in the world of wellness. Mycologist Lizza Bixby will lead the program. Registration is not required.

Lizza Bixby is a mycologist and mushroom enthusiast originating from the mushroom diversity capital of the world, the southern Appalachian mountains! For years she has spent countless hours learning as much about these enigmatic organisms as she can.

Polk County Public Libraries has two libraries, Columbus Library and Saluda Library, with books, movies, music, audiobooks, and downloadable ebooks and audiobooks available for checkout, as well as public computers and wireless internet access.
