Bear Wise presentation at Saluda Library

SALUDA, N. C., (April 28, 2025) Learn how to be “bear wise” on Tuesday, May 13th at 2pm at Saluda Library! Thanks to conservation efforts, black bears have made a dramatic comeback in North Carolina. As bears expand into areas with suitable habitat, it is important for communities to learn how to coexist with them. Living with bears is part of life in North Carolina! This program will be presented by Mark Ray, North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission Engagement Program Specialist. As a native of the NC Appalachian Mountains, Mark has been an advocate outdoorsman his entire life.

Please register for this event at conservingcarolina.org/calendar. The Saluda Library Speaker Series is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 44 West Main Street, Saluda, NC. This program series began in 2024 thanks to a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation, and is now made possible thanks to the continued partnership between Polk County Public Libraries and Conserving Carolina.
