Cat Café at Saluda Library

COLUMBUS, N.C., (May 17, 2018) – Join us on Tuesday, May 22 for a very special event! Cat cafés have been popular in Asia for years but are just now making their way to the US, opening recently in Greenville, SC and Charlotte, NC. For those who don’t want to drive that far to mingle with cats while enjoying a delicious beverage, Polk County Public Libraries are transforming the top floor of Saluda Library into a cat café for an afternoon!

Guests can enjoy tea, lemonade, and cookies while mingling with adoptable cats from Foothills Humane Society. Georgiana’s Java Joint will also be generously serving coffee during the event at a “pay what you wish” rate; all proceeds will go to FHS. Please note that the first half of the program (3-4pm) is for adults only (ages 18+) so as to not tire out the kitties too quickly! All ages are welcome to join in on the fun from 4-5pm.

Polk County Public Libraries has two libraries, Columbus Library and Saluda Library, as well as outreach services. PCPL offers books, movies, music, audiobooks, and downloadable eBooks and audiobooks, as well as public computers and wireless internet access. PCPL offers regularly scheduled programs for people of all ages. To learn more, visit www.polklibrary.org.
