Learn about local snakes at Saluda Library

SALUDA, N. C., (December 29, 2025) Learn about the 18 non-venomous and two venomous species of snakes that inhabit Polk and Henderson Counties at Saluda Library on Tuesday, January 13th at 2pm. This includes some aspects of their life history, reproduction, dealing with problem snakes, the danger of venomous snake bites, and treating such bites for both humans and pets. Presenter Alan Cameron has been a volunteer with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission for 20 years.

Please register for this event at conservingcarolina.org/calendar. The Saluda Library Speaker Series is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 44 West Main Street, Saluda, NC. This program series began in 2024 thanks to a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation, and is now made possible due to the continued partnership between Polk County Public Libraries and Conserving Carolina.
