Nature lovers and collectors of all kinds will love this high-adventure quest story about two brave and clever girls who head into the forest in search of something extraordinary. The StoryWalk® begins at the playground and continues counter-clockwise on the path around the park. The Collectors will be available to read from June 10-July 31, 2024. Scan the QR code on the last panel to enter to win a prize pack, which includes a copy of the book and an outdoor explorer set!
Summer Learning Begins 06/10/2024 , 12:00 AM 2024 Summer Learning Program We all know how important it is to continue learning throughout the summer (and all year long)! The 2024 Summer Learning Program with Polk County Public Libraries runs for 8 weeks, from June 10th to August 4th. Kids and teens (up to rising 12th graders) can sign up starting June 10th at Columbus Library or Saluda Library. After you sign up, you will receive a packet that contains a brag tag necklace to start your collection, eight learning goal bookmarks, and a list of learning goal ideas. Each week, set and achieve two learning goals and write your goals on the bookmark. Then return your completed bookmark the following week for a new brag tag, an entry into our weekly prize drawing, and an entry into our grand prize drawings! Adults do not need to sign up, but can complete up to 25 challenges over the eight week period. The challenge card can be picked up at Columbus Library or Saluda Library starting June 10th. Bring your card into the library between June 17th and August 10th to submit your completed challenges. After you complete five challenges, you will receive a small prize and an entry into the grand prize drawing. For every additional five challenges you complete, earn another entry into the grand prize drawing. Grand prize winners will be announced the week of August 12th.
