Snakes of Polk and Henderson Counties 01/13/2026 , 2:00 PM at PCPL Saluda Snakes of Polk and Henderson Counties Learn about the 18 non-venomous and two venomous species of snakes that inhabit Polk and Henderson Counties. This includes some aspects of their life history, reproduction, dealing with problem snakes, the danger of venomous snake bites and treating such bites for both humans and pets. Presenter Alan Cameron has been a volunteer with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission for 20 years. Register for the program here. Kombucha Brewing 01/21/2026 , 5:00 PM at PCPL Columbus Kombucha Brewing Join Lindsey Edwards from Polk County’s Cooperative Extension as we learn how to make kombucha! If your New Year’s resolution is better health, this delicious, probiotic-packed drink is the perfect place to begin. Each participant will leave with a SCOBY (fermentation starter) to brew their own kombucha at home. This program is for adults only. Registration is required and space is limited.
