Learn to Grow Gourmet Mushrooms

In this informative, hands-on workshop, mycologist and mushroom enthusiast Lizza Bixby will unveil the mysteries of growing mushrooms at home. She’ll discuss two growing methods – one for recycling kitchen waste like used coffee grounds to grow mushrooms like Oysters indoors, and another for growing mushrooms like Shiitake in fresh hardwood logs. Learn everything you need to know to get growing and get eating! Come ready to get dirty; you’ll be participating in the demonstration! The first 40 participants to arrive will take home a mini mushroom fruiting cup.

Stitch & Sip: Learn to Crochet

Join Meg Evatt to learn the craft of crochet! We will cover crochet basics, including equipment needed, yarns and hooks for crocheting, how to make a chain stitch, and how to make single and double crochet stitches. We’ll put our knowledge into action by crafting a scarf, just in time for the holidays! Cozy up with a warm drink from our hot cocoa bar and stitch away! All supplies will be provided.

Bake your favorite batch of cookies (we recommend 2 dozen) to bring to this special meeting of the Cookbook Club, where we’ll trade and taste our homemade sweets. We will provide a pizza lunch to accompany our cookies!
