Columbus Library:
Sept 22 – Tracks & Scat w/ WNC Nature Center
Studying what an animal leaves behind is a great way to learn about the lifestyle and habits of local wildlife. Participants will rotate among three stations to play animal track games and design their own track guides, as well as work in small groups to study scat models.
Sept 29 – Incredible Invertebrates w/ Team ECCO
Meet and learn about ocean-dwelling invertebrates in this live animal encounter program.
Oct 6 – Forensic Science w/ Zaniac
Participants will see a crime scene (chairs knocked over, trash on the floor, a half eaten candy bar!) to decide who took the cookies from the party! They will work in teams to take fingerprints, observe footprints, identify a mystery powder, and make their conclusion as to who was the cookie thief.
Oct 13 – Fantastic Plants w/ KidSenses
Why are plants green? How do they grow? Learn about the power of nature as we discover the importance of plants to our natural world. We’ll also make a terrarium to facilitate future plant growth!
