April 2019 Theme: Art

April 2: Banded Blocks
Create a work of art using a block of wood, nails, and colorful rubber bands! Please bring your own hammer. Children will need adult assistance for this activity.

April 9: Perler Bead Magnets
Arrange colorful beads on pegboards to form a pattern and then fuse the beads together with an iron to create a unique magnet!

April 16: Felt Sewing
Sewing for beginners! Learn a simple stitch and make a bunny pin with felt and embroidery thread. Children will need adult assistance for this activity.

April 23: Imitate the Artist
Learn about great artists such as Wassily Kandinsky and Pablo Picasso and imitate their art to make your own masterpieces.

April 30: Shrinky Dink Keychains
Trace and color a design onto a sheet of polystyrene, then cut it out and heat in the oven to watch it shrink to one-third the original size.
