It’s that time of the year again! If you’re a reader who loves to shop for bargains, the Friends of the Polk County Public Library fall book sale is the place for you! The sale will be at the Main Library in Columbus on Thursday, October 20 from 9am-7:30pm; Friday, October 21 from 9am-5:30pm; and Saturday, October 22 from 9am-3:30pm.

Those who are already Friends of the Library members or those who would like to join (starting as low as $10 for an individual annual membership) will have first choice at a special preview sale on Wednesday, October 19 from 4:30pm-7:30pm. The Friends of the Library welcome new members so they can expand the assistance they provide to Polk County Public Library. Please join the organization to celebrate and enhance reading and literacy in our community. You can support library programs, participate in book clubs, and help with book sales and get a sneak preview!

Books, DVDs, and CDs withdrawn from the library or donated by the community will be sold. Prices are $1.00 for hardbacks and trade paperbacks and $0.50 for paperbacks. Children’s books are three for $1.00. On Saturday, there will be a $5.00 bag sale.

All proceeds from the book sale are used by the Friends of the Library to support Polk County Public Library through projects such as contributing to the children’s Summer Reading Program and other events, sponsoring development opportunities for the library staff, holding appreciation events for the library volunteers, and planning free programs and speakers of general interest for the community.
