Local artist Kristen Mode displays works at Saluda Library
SALUDA, N. C., (February 17, 2025) Works by local artist Kristen Mode will be on display at Saluda Library through mid March. Kristen will be on hand to discuss her work at an artist reception on Tuesday, March 4th from 2-4pm. Light refreshments will be served.
Kristen embraces all the positives that Polk County has to offer, whether covered in paint and dirt at her home studio in Saluda, or wandering the creek beds with her horses and dogs. The inspiration and style from this young artist come from her deep connection with the Appalachian Mountains and the healing energy they provide. From the river’s music, the warm sun’s embrace, bird chatter, the new growth of spring, or the last frost of winter, it all resonates within her work. Originally from the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, Kristen has always found solace in nature and home within the mountains. Much like visions of a kaleidoscope intertwining abstract thought, oversaturated colors, and a few real world problems, her desire is to instill the viewers with a sense of responsibility towards the ever-evolving ecological challenges we are facing and to create a positive difference with her art. The vibrancy of mother nature and love for all beings is felt within every brushstroke, being the voice of the voiceless with the power of paint. Find more of Kristen’s artwork inside her co-owned gallery eARThly Minds in downtown Saluda.
