Voices from the Past at Columbus Library
COLUMBUS, N. C., (February 9, 2026) Local thespian Karen McDowell will present a living history performance at Columbus Library on Thursday, February 26th at 2pm. The program will feature a biographical monologue and reenactment of an important African American figure.
Karen McDowell has a degree in Theatre Arts from Limestone College, and retired from Landrum Library after working as a library assistant for over 32 years. She performs her character reenactments depicting and sharing the lives, history, and works of famous African Americans, with her created biographical monologues, for various schools, churches, and libraries in the area. She portrayed Harriet Tubman last year at Columbus Library. Who will she bring to life on February 26th? Attend the event to find out!
