Keep learning all summer at Polk County Public Libraries

COLUMBUS, N. C., (June 23, 2025) We all know how important it is to continue learning through the summer while school is out! Sign up now for the 2025 Summer Learning Program at Columbus Library or Saluda Library.

Kids and teens can pick up a packet at the library that contains a brag tag to start your collection, learning goal bookmarks, and a list of learning goal ideas. Each week, set and achieve two learning goals for a new brag tag, a $1 donation on your behalf to a local organization, and an entry into the grand prize drawings! The organizations you can choose to have us donate to on your behalf are Drawn to Help, Champions for Wildlife, and Foothills Humane Society. There is also a summer challenge for adults! Pick up a challenge card at the library and complete challenges throughout the summer for a tote bag and chances to win a gift card from a local business.

Children’s events are on Thursdays at 2pm. On Thursday, June 26th, Greensboro-based band Big Bang Boom will perform a family concert at 2pm at Saluda Elementary School. On Thursday, July 3rd, choose from the 11am or 2pm Gravity Check Juggling show at Columbus Library.

For more information, contact Jen Pace Dickenson, Youth Services Librarian, at jdickenson@polklibrary.org or (828) 894-8721 x284. Thanks to the Friends of the Polk County Public Libraries for sponsoring this program!
