Local artist Kristen Mode displays works at Saluda Library

SALUDA, N. C., (March 24, 2021) During April and May, Saluda Library will feature the work of local artist Kristen Mode. Stop by the library to see and purchase her paintings during regular business hours. Saluda Library is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm.

It is safe to say that Kristen embraces all the positives that Polk County has to offer, whether covered in paint and dirt at her home studio in Saluda or wandering the creek beds with her horses and dogs. The inspiration and style from this young artist come from her deep connection with the Appalachian Mountains and the healing energy they provide. The river’s music, the warm sun’s embrace, bird chatter, the new growth of spring, and the last frost of winter all resonate within her work.

Originally from the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, Kristen has always found solace in nature and home within the mountains. Her desires are to instill the viewers with a sense of responsibility towards the ever-evolving ecological challenges we are facing and to create a positive difference with her art every day. The vibrance of mother nature and love for all beings is felt within every brushstroke, being the voice of the voiceless with the power of paint. One of Kristen’s favorite mottos is to feed her mind and your stomach; a creative mind is always hungry.
