History of the Saluda Grade presentation at Saluda Library

SALUDA, N. C., (March 25, 2025) Learn about the history of the Saluda Grade on Tuesday, April 8th at 2pm at Saluda Library! The history of the Grade spans from 1830 in Charleston, SC, to 2001 with the last train up the hill. This presentation by David O’Brien will address many of the important events that occurred during that period and several advancements in railroading that came from operation on the Grade. David became active in the Saluda Historic Depot and Museum in 2017 as a docent and is currently a member of their Board of Directors and the unofficial museum historian.
