New programs at Polk County Public Libraries

COLUMBUS, N. C., (March 8, 2021) There are two great new programs at Polk County Public Libraries that kick off this month!

Spice It Up is a monthly cooking challenge designed to spice up your kitchen. Pick up a free packet at Columbus or Saluda Library. The packet includes a spice sample, simple recipe, and list of cookbooks with additional recipes using the featured spice. March’s spice is smoked paprika! Coming up, we will be cooking with Chinese Five Spice in April.

Relieve daily anxiety while getting creative with Worry-Free Watercolor! Kits with supplies for this ten week series will be available beginning Monday, March 29. Follow along with Polk County Public Libraries on our website or Facebook for weekly painting examples. We will show you watercolor techniques using the supplies in your kits, including tissues, cotton balls, salt, and rubbing alcohol.

Polk County Public Libraries has two libraries, Columbus Library and Saluda Library, as well as homebound services. PCPL offers books, movies, music, audiobooks, and downloadable ebooks and audiobooks, as well as public computers and wireless internet access. PCPL offers regularly scheduled virtual programs for people of all ages. To learn more, visit www.polklibrary.org.
