Keep learning all summer at Polk County Public Libraries

COLUMBUS, N. C., (May 30, 2024) We all know how important it is to continue learning through the summer while school is out! Sign up for the 2024 Summer Learning Program with Polk County Public Libraries starting June 10th at Columbus Library or Saluda Library.

Kids and teens can pick up a packet at the library that contains two brag tags to start your collection, learning goal bookmarks, and a list of learning goal ideas. Each week, set and achieve two learning goals for a new brag tag, an entry into our weekly prize drawing, and an entry into our grand prize drawings! The learning incentive program runs for eight weeks, until August 2nd.

Kids events are on Wednesdays at 2pm and are held at Columbus Library or Saluda Elementary School. Performers this year include Didgeridoo Adventure Down Under, Sigmon Theatrical, Doug Berky, and April C. Turner. Teen programs for rising 6th-12th graders are on alternating Thursdays at 2pm and include free snacks. Visit polklibrary.org/events for details as some programs require registration.

There is also a summer challenge for adults! Pick up a challenge card at the library starting June 10th and complete challenges throughout the summer for a chance to win a gift card from a local business.
