Thinking Outside the (Lunch) Box
COLUMBUS, N. C., (May 9, 2016) – Thinking Outside the (Lunch) Box is a new lunch series
at Polk County Public Library. The program is on the second Friday of every month at the
Columbus Library at noon. Participants are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch and enjoy a brief
presentation, Q&A session, and book signing with a local author or expert.
This month, the library will host local teacher and author Linda Powell. As a teacher in
Columbus and Tryon, Linda is devoted to using music as a tool to help children and teens
develop personal awareness, grow self-esteem, and expand healing in their lives. Her book
“Stories, Music, and Imagery: A Doorway to a Child’s Self-Esteem” describes the innovative
process that she created to work with children which combines original stories, music, and
imagery. Linda will present her book on Friday, May 13th.
