Local artist Lori Loftus displays works at Saluda Library

SALUDA, N. C., (October 25, 2021) During November and December, Saluda Library will feature a series of silk wall hangings from local artist Lori Loftus. Stop by the library to see and purchase her artwork during regular business hours. Saluda Library is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm.

Nature printing has been Lori’s artistic passion since she joined the Nature Printing Society in 2006. Lori uses the eco dyeing process, where flowers, leaves, and seeds are wrapped in silk and steamed in a large pot. The organic material can be arranged and manipulated to produce the desired images and colors. Her silk scarves are on display at the Heartwood Gallery in Saluda and in the gift shop at Tryon Painters & Sculptors Gallery.
