Literary Pumpkins Contest
COLUMBUS, N. C., (October 4, 2019) Polk County Public Libraries is holding their first ever literary pumpkins contest this October! It’s time to get crafty and decorate a pumpkin inspired by your favorite book or book character.
Drop your creation off at the front desk of Saluda Library or Columbus Library from October 7-12 during opening hours. Pumpkins will be put on display and the public will vote for their favorite at each library from October 15-26. The winners will be announced October 28 and receive $25 gift cards to Tryon Theatre. The pumpkins can be real or artificial; however, it is preferable that you do not carve into a real pumpkin to prevent rotting.
Polk County Public Libraries has two libraries, Columbus Library and Saluda Library, as well as outreach services. PCPL offers books, movies, music, audiobooks, and downloadable eBooks and audiobooks, as well as public computers and wireless internet access. PCPL offers regularly scheduled programs for people of all ages. To learn more, visit www.polklibrary.org.
