STEM series for elementary school students at Columbus Library

COLUMBUS, N. C., (September 13, 2022) The first of five STEM series for elementary school students at Polk County Public Libraries starts next week! Each series is four weeks long and meets once a week for a unique program. These series will run throughout the 2022-2023 school year and are sponsored by a Free Community Events Grant from Polk County Community Foundation.

The first STEM series is at Columbus Library on Thursdays at 4pm, starting September 22nd and running through October 13th. Programs will include learning about animal tracks and scat with the WNC Nature Center, meeting incredible invertebrates from Team ECCO Aquarium, studying forensic science with Zaniac Learning Center, and discovering the importance of plants to our natural world with KidSenses.

Participants must be in grades K-5, be Polk County or Landrum residents, register in advance, and be able to attend all four programs in a series. Light refreshments will be provided for parents/caregivers during each program.

Space is limited! Register with Jen at jdickenson@polklibrary.org or (828) 894-8721 x284. The second STEM series will begin at Saluda Library on October 27th.
