Join us for a discussion of the Monarch life cycle that allows the butterflies to fly north from Mexico through multiple life cycles until they reach southern Canada, then return to their wintering grounds in southern Mexico in one long, hazard-filled “super generation.” Presenter Heyward Douglass has worked as a naturalist at Oconee and Table Rock State Parks and with the Clemson Cooperative Extension Services, and as the Executive Director of the Foothills Trail Conservancy. He has an M.S. in Entomology and visited the Monarch Butterfly Mexican wintering grounds in February 2020. Register for the program here.
The Saluda Library Speaker Series is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 44 West Main Street, Saluda, NC. This program series is made possible thanks to Polk County Public Libraries’ partnership with Conserving Carolina. Contact Pam Torlina at pam@conservingcarolina.org with questions or for more information.
