April’s Spice: Sumac
Recipe: Pita Chips
INGREDIENTS
- 4 pitas or pita pockets
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 garlic clove minced or 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp sumac
- coarse salt sea
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 400* F
- In a small bowl mix, together oil and garlic. Brush over pita and then season lightly with salt.
- Cut each pita into 6-8 triangles. Place pita triangles on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until just starting to brown.
- Immediately sprinkle with sumac.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Will keep for 1-2 days in an airtight container at room temperature.
